Everything begins in the last decade of the 20th century with a man and a supposedly mad dream...
In 1995, Belgian Christian Nonis was expending 15 years of his life crossing South America...
He had fallen in love with this continent, with Peru, with its people and even more with Lake Titicaca...
The magical Lake had put a spell on him from his first contact so many years ago...
During these years, he was charmed with fabulous department of Puno and discovering the incredible treasures of this land that had no value for so many people... It is so in 1995, during one of these tours, he discovered Charcas ... a set of several crags of red sandstone that were protecting little pink sand beaches...it was love at first sight... it’s the place where he was going to create his mansion! During years and years he was buying small pieces of this area to build the castle of his dreams.
In 2002 the construction began with help of the villagers... and in 2003 the Castle became a reality... At this place he started living nearby to the Lake that he was so much charmed with... From the beginning, he was helped by Blas, a young guy of the neighboring community whom he considers to be his adopted child and Blas now takes charge managing this so spectacular place created between sky and the lake.
The Castle of Titicaca is located on a rocky promontory on the shores of the lake, in a property of more than 2 hectares of garden terraces and pink sand beaches, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, at the Beaches of Charcas, Titilaca - Plateria disctrict, Department of Puno.
